A Phone Call !

In a distant summer night
in a silent village
there is an empty street , where
in a dark house
among paraffin lamps
in a faintly lit window
stands a shy girl.

Every night
she stays near the window, worried
excavating
the mines of her love treasures
subtracting her worries
multiplying her dreams
until digits get exhausted.

Every night
she stays near the window, restless
biting her shawl
holding her dreams
waiting
in the silence of her heart
amongst the voices of croaking frogs
for a phone call
which she will never attend.
